Mixing and Blending
Rotary Batch Mixers
The Munson Rotary Batch Mixer offers 100 percent uniform particle distribution, 100 percent uniform liquid coatings, the fastest cycle times, gentle product handling, the lowest energy consumption per pound of blended product per hour, and complete discharge with no segregation of blended products.
Vee Cone Blenders
A Munson Vee-Cone Blender is comprised of two inclined cylinders that rotate, causing bulk material to fall and converge during half of the rotation, and divide during the other half. This achieves uniform blends more rapidly than standard Double Cone Blenders (also offered by Munson), while requiring significantly less horsepower/kilowatts than ribbon blenders and other agitated machines.
Model HD-12-SS - Stainless Steel Ribbon Blender
Munson has been manufacturing high performance ribbon blenders, paddle blenders and plow blenders since 1960, and has most likely solved a horizontal blending problem precisely like yours numerous times. From sanitary blenders for labs, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals and food producers to robust, super-duty machines for soil reclamation, building materials and oil sludge treatment, Munson tailors each horizontal blender to satisfy specific application requirements.
Large Bulk Size Reduction
Rotary Lump Breakers
The product of over a century of size reduction experience, the Rotary Lump Breaker represents the newest addition to Munson`s size reduction line. It is designed for dry powder de-agglomeration, reducing scrap product, or compacted, lumpy, and hard friable materials from silos, bags or bulk sacks
Maxum - Model 30 - Large Block Shredders
The `Maxum 30` shredder from Munson reduces large blocks and bails of material into particles of narrow size ranges with minimum fines. Each of two rotors is configured with a staggered array of specially treated, solid carbide tips able to shred a broad variety of materials, including the most difficult-to-shred products. The conical tips have an interference fit into receiver slots for rapid replacement.
Fine Size Reduction
SK-30-SS - Attrition Mills
The Attrition Mill produces particles within a relatively narrow particle size spectrum, from granular (10 to 200 mesh). It is employed primarily for reduction of fibrous materials, but is also suitable for friable products. It is available in three sizes with single- or dual (counter-rotating) powered discs, and an extensive selection of plate designs for optimum performance. In addition to general process applications, Munson Attrition Mills are often utilized for conditioning of materials prior to packaging.
Liquid/Solid Separation
Rotary Drum Screen
Munson Rotary Drum Screens utilize a cylindrical drum constructed of wedge wire screen to remove solid materials from waste streams at capacities from 200 to 4,650 gal/min. (757 to 17,600 liter/min.). Effluent discharges from a head box, overflows a dam and flows onto the outside of the rotating cylinder, allowing water to pass through the wedgewire into the cylinder. A doctor blade scrapes sludge and debris collected on the outside of the cylinder, while an internal spray line dislodges particles blinding the screen.
Security Shredding
Security Destructor
The Munson Security Destructor is highly effective at destroying large quantities of materials associated with security or highly controlled manufacturing, proven by the fact that numerous United States Federal Reserve Banks (as well as many international banks) use this technology to destroy currency.
Coarse Size Reduction
Screen Classifying Cutters (SCC)
The Munson `SCC` Screen Classifying Cutter is highly effective at cutting hard, soft and fibrous materials into controlled particle sizes with minimal fines at high rates. It features a proprietary helical rotor design with dozens of cutter blades attached to a helical array of staggered holders called `interconnected parallelograms` to continuously shear oversize materials against twin, stationary bed knives.
Model M - Laboratory Mini Cutters
Munson Laboratory Mini Cutters for coarse materials are industrial-grade, heavy-duty rotary cutters mated to 15 horsepower drives, designed for low to moderate production rates. They are miniature versions of Munson`s production-scale SCC Screen Classifying Cutters and as such, handle the same materials and offer similar size reduction characteristics but at lower capacities. Like SCC Cutters, they are effective at cutting hard, soft and fibrous materials into controlled particle sizes with minimal fines at high rates, and feature a proprietary helical rotor design with multiple cutter blades attached to a helical array of staggered holders called `interconnected parallelograms` to continuously shear oversize materials against twin, stationary bed knives.
