OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Online

Our OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER - Online course provides in-depth training on how to perform post emergency response activities and cleanups/remediation at industrial sites, Superfund and RCRA corrective action sites, and voluntary cleanups involving hazardous substances. Training includes hazard recognition, exposure limits and risk evaluation for chemical and general site safety concerns. You will review the technology and methods available to monitor and detect hazardous materials, learn how to control and contain chemical spills, establish a decontamination process, and select and use worker protective equipment, among a wide variety of other subjects.

OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER - Blended Training

In addition to taking the OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Online, Safety Unlimited also offers a blended version that includes 32 hours of online training coupled with 8 hours of classroom training. It is really two classes combined, one online and one in a classroom environment. In the classroom portion, students receive hands-on training during the final 8 hours of their 40-hour certification. OSHA requires workers to be adequately trained to use specialized equipment in a training environment before actually having to use it in a hazardous work environment. This session introduces students to examples of this type of equipment and allows them to practice with it. Please note — the online portion needs to be completed before attending the hands-on session.

OSHA Hazard Communication Training Aligned with GHS

Our OSHA Hazard Communication Training Aligned with GHS course is intended for workers who are exposed to hazardous chemicals at the workplace, as well as workers involved in the shipment, importation, and manufacture of hazardous materials. As part of "Employee`s Right to Know," all employees who may be exposed to hazardous chemicals must receive Hazard Communication Training within 30 days of their hire date. In many states, this training must be repeated on an annual basis. This course provides students with training on the changes implemented to the HAZCOM Standard brought about by the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, in accordance with OSHA`s 2012 HAZCOM Standard.

Classroom Course - OSHA Hazwoper (Section (p) for TSDF and RCRA)

Classroom 24 Hour Handling Hazardous Waste Training Courses

Whether you work for a large or small generator of hazardous waste, a hazardous waste treatment, storage, or disposal facility (TSDF), or transport hazardous waste, you are required to receive training. However, it is not always clear what the scope of this training should be or who requires you to receive training. For example, if you work for a small-quantity generator of hazardous waste, your employer is not required to have an established training program under RCRA regulations, and is only required to ensure employees handling hazardous waste are familiar with proper handling and emergency procedures.

Classroom Course - OSHA Hazwoper (Section (q) - Hazmat Emergency Response)

Classroom 24 Hour OSHA Hazmat Technician Training Courses

Hazardous Materials Technicians are trained to respond to hazardous materials emergencies in an offensive fashion. Their primary role is to stop or control a spill or release by approaching the point of the release using specialized personal protective equipment (PPE). Hazmat Technicians are typically members of Hazmat Teams, often referred to as Spill Response Teams, or Emergency Response Teams, when they respond to chemical spills. OSHA requires Hazardous Materials Technicians to be trained in accordance with section (q) of the HAZWOPER regulation. This training is also referred to as Hazmat Tech, Level III Responder, Industry Tech, or any combination of these terms. This training requires annual refresher training, per OSHA, of sufficient content and duration to maintain responder competencies.

Classroom 16 Hour Hazardous Materials Incident Commander Training Courses

Hazardous Materials Incident Commanders are trained to manage hazardous materials emergencies beyond that of the First Responder. Upon arrival to the scene, they formally assume command from the first responder, who should have already established a working ICS (Incident Command System) and would be the interim Incident Commander. This course provides the tools a person needs to assume control of an emergency response to a hazardous materials incident. It focuses on legal and practical requirements to safely and competently manage a hazardous materials incident. Instructional methods include class activities, case studies, and tabletop exercises, with an emphasis on hands- on decision-making.
