Dewatering Services
Dewatering equipment used by Sevenson includes recessed-chamber filter presses, belt presses and centrifuges. Sevenson has dewatered sediments and materials from lakes, rivers, industrial ponds, pits and lagoons, as well as waste streams generated by petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, and wastewater treatment plants.
Landfill Construction & Closure Services
Landfill construction and closure has been a core service provided by Sevenson since 1976 when we built our first commercial hazardous waste landfill for SCA, Services, Inc. (now known as CWM Chemical Services LLC). A recent expansion project for the Delaware Solid Waste Authority at its Cherry Island Landfill facility in Wilmington, Delaware, earned the design and construction team Geosyntec and Sevenson a nomination for the American Society of Civil Engineers OPAL Award for outstanding civil engineering achievement.Sediment Capping Services
Sevenson uses several different capping approaches depending on project specifications, project location, water depths and environmental factors and cap material type. Sevenson has developed a custom-built slurry system for hydraulic placement of granular cap materials. The system consists of a feed hopper, oversized screening and slurry system that pumps the material through a pipeline for placement through a diffuser system on a barge. The pump used to convey the sand slurry is a booster type pump commonly found on dredging projects. The hopper, screening and slurry system is typically place on the shoreline. The system is capable of placing thin lifts of backfill consistently. The positioning system for the barge uses a RTK GPS system.

Sevenson owns and operates a full complement of dredges, pumps, piping, tanks, filter presses, centrifuges and related equipment to perform sediment remediation projects. Sevenson has successfully remediated contaminated sediments from lakes, rivers, creeks, coves, marshes and waste ponds and pits.
