It is the most important stage of processing. Sgorbati supplies grading machines for both small and large asparagus producers. The first step for companies wishing to mechanize the grading process is to equip themselves with a circular grader for asparagus; it is an ideal machine for farms that cultivate up to 3ha, and which allows, with a single operator, to wash, cut and select asparagus in 4 calibers, depending on the diameter.

It can be carried out either at the same time as the calibration, through plates, positioned under the cups, which warn, by means of lights, the operators as soon as the set weight is reached, or with a special machine, which optimizes the combinations of asparagus inside the bunch, minimizing excess weight.

Whatever the final goal of our work, fresh or for processed, potatoes need to be calibrated for several reasons: to optimize production processes, to reduce waste, and to provide the consumer with more homogeneous final products. For grading, the most used machine is the potatoes net grader which, thanks to successive sieves, with different sizes of the net, obtains a dimensional separation of the same. Less used, because it is fundamentally linked to the world of carrots, is the roller sizer.

The optical sorter finds defects in salad leaves, such as discoloration and rot spots. It also allows the identification of foreign objects, such as insects, worms, snails, rather than pieces of wood, plastic, metal. The accuracy of the sorting process guarantees hygiene, quality and freshness of the product, particularly important for fresh-cut products.

The VWM 2500 is designed for small and medium-sized vegetable processing companies. The machine perfectly suits with the BCM 1650 belt-cutting machine. The product has to be thrown (manually) into the washing tank, or is transported to the washing machine on a conveyor belt. In the washing tank, the vegetables are washed very intensively after which they are transported over the vibrating sieve. Here the vegetables get an extra ‘shower’ with clean water by the sprinklers. The overfowing water is removed through the perforated soil to the flter tank. All the sand and vegetable leftovers are fltered out, whereupon the water is recycled to the washing tank.

The VWM 3600 VS is designed for small and medium-sized vegetable processing companies. The machine perfectly suits with the MTN 1650 / MTN 2450 belt-cutting machine.
