SiREM services
Gene-Trac - Molecular Testing Services
Gene-Trac testing is used to quantify key microorganisms and to determine microbial community composition for the assessment of bioremediation potential and to monitor enhanced bioremediation performance by quantifying and characterizing microorganisms in groundwater and soil/sediment from contaminated sites.
SiREM - Treatability Testing Services
Treatability studies provide an opportunity to evaluate and optimize site-specific remediation performance variables in a controlled laboratory setting. SiREM technical experts have performed hundreds of treatability studies, for a wide variety of contaminant mixtures and remediation technologies, that demonstrate the strong correlation between laboratory treatability study observations and what can be achieved “in the field”.
SiREM - Biotreatability Studies Services
The professionals at SiREM are experts at performing biotreatability studies for a wide variety of contaminants. SiREM routinely performs technically challenging anaerobic studies that maintain the activities of oxygen sensitive microorganisms using specialized protocols and anaerobic chambers. SiREM biotreatability studies are designed as replicated controlled experiments that provide a high level of data integrity and interpretability. SiREM’s interpretative reports summarize data and place results in a site remediation context for use by our customers in remedy selection and optimization.
SiREM - In Situ Chemical Reduction Services
Reduced metals are used to abiotically enhance remediation for a wide variety of contaminants in groundwater and soil/sediment. SiREM performs both microcosm and column studies for reduced metals applications using granular, nano-scale and micro-scale zero valent iron (ZVI), zero-valent magnesium, zinc and reduced iron minerals (e.g., siderite). Reduced metals microcosm studies are constructed using site groundwater and aquifer material to evaluate
SIREM - In Situ Chemical Oxidation Testing Services
In situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) technologies can promote rapid reduction of contaminant mass. As an industry leader in bench-scale treatability and column studies SiREM offers a range of laboratory testing services to evaluate the effectiveness of ISCO processes and to optimize remediation system design for field application.
SiREM - Laboratory Sediment Treatability Studies Services
Bench-scale laboratory treatability studies are a cost effective tool to assess and optimize remediation technology options prior to field implementation. These studies efficiently provide comparisons of various treatment technologies, test multiple conditions concurrently and provide the flexibility to assess changes to the remediation strategy that would be impractical at field scale.
