Strainers

Kinney - Automatic Self-Cleaning Strainer

Kinney is most noted for our heavy-duty Model A and Model AP Automatic Self-Cleaning Strainers . Both models are designed for continuous removal of suspended particles from all types of liquids. The Model A is designed for operation under positive pressure (20 psi or greater). Pipeline sizes range from 2` - 60` and larger. Both models employ the use of a rotating cylindrical drum with a number of threaded holes containing one of many types of straining media. The drum is supported on a rotating shaft fitted with bearings and is contained in a body having a vertical backwash slot opening adjacent to the drum surface.

Kinney - Automatic Self-Cleaning Strainer (Low Pressure)

S. P. Kinney is most noted for our heavy-duty Model A and Model AP Automatic Self-Cleaning Strainers. The Model AP is designed for operation where the pressure is less than 20 psi. Both models employ the use of a rotating cylindrical drum with a number of threaded holes containing one of many types of straining media. The drum is supported on a rotating shaft fitted with bearings and is contained in a body having a vertical backwash slot opening adjacent to the drum surface.

Kinney - Automatic Self-Cleaning Strainer

The Model AFW-1 is S.P. Kinney’s light-duty Automatic Self-Cleaning Strainer. The Model AFW-1 is designed for operation where the pressure 20 psi and up. The strainer employs the use of a stationary wedge wire drum and a rotating cleaning shoe.

Kinney - Custom Strainers

S.P. Kinney can custom design filtration packages for any application. S.P. Kinney offers a wide range of custom manual and automatic designs to meet any dimensional, pressure, or temperature requirements that a customer may have.

Kinney - Light-Duty Manual Strainer

The Model AM is S.P. Kinney’s light-duty Manual Strainer that is similar in design to the Model A. The Model AM is designed for operation where the pressure 20 psi and up. The strainer employs the use of a manually rotated cylindrical drum with a number of threaded holes containing one of many types of straining media. The drum positioned against a vertical backwash slot.

Blast Furnace Equipment

Kinney - Rubber Seated Butterfly Valve

Body: Steel body with integral flanges and shaft bearing housings. Flanges are drilled per ASA Standards. Wafer or flangeless designs can also be furnished. Valve is not manufactured to AWWA specifications.Shaft: One-piece stainless steel shaft, extending completely through the valve disc. Disc: Steel disc is fastened to the valve shaft by body bound bolts, positively secured in position by locking nuts. The disc hubs are machined flat at the points where the disc is in contact with the seat, resulting in a uniform pressure between the disc and seat at all points int he disc travel.

Kinney - Water Cooled Butterfly Valve

Totally Water Cooledfor temperatures to 2000 degrees F, Tight sealing removable airfoil design seat, Water cooled body, disc and shaft- with unique water channels, Sizes: 20″-120″, Horizontal or vertical installation, Manual, electric, pneumatic or hydraulic operation, Positive internal stops, Ideal for use in electric furnaces- for scrap pre-heat or discharge gases.

Kinney - Hot Blast Valve

The Kinney-DDS hot blast valve is designed and service proven for continuous operation to stove dome temperatures. Stove change time is kept to a minimum as it takes only 10 seconds to open or close the valve. Compared to mushroom valve designs, less space is required, the pressure drop is negligible, costly piping and cable devices are eliminated; also the capital equipment cost is considerably less. The Kinney-DDS valve can also be used for backdrafting stack control-and further, is interchangeable with the stove burner valve with slight alterations. Service: Kinney’s excellent service policy is well known-resulting in a much longer operating time, less downtime and a reduction in maintenance costs.

Hydraulic Ram Goggle Valve

The valve is manufactured under exacting conditions to provide the finest quality of workmanship. It is ruggedly constructed of welded, fabricated steel. It is a self-contained unit and is so designed that no supports are necessary other than those normally required for supporting the main.

Kinney - Swing Goggle Valve

Simplified design, ruggedly and dependably built, easy to operate and economical to maintain – are the principal advantages of the Kinney Swing Goggle Valve. The valve will render an absolute tight shut-off in blast furnace, basic oxygen, open hearth or other gas mains. It is designed for vertical operation in a horizontal main – with rollers and other daptations provided for horizontal operation in a vertical main.
When in the closed position, a definite separation on each side of the goggle plate is assured – to prevent leakage of gas from one side of the goggle plate to the other. Should leakage occur between the goggle plate and hte clamping or stationary frames (due to improper clamping, for example), leakage will be admitted to the atmosphere and not around the goggle plate to the depressurized side of the valve.
