Spire Metering - Model 280C-5 - Spire Capture Series Wireless Concentrator

The 280C-5 concentrator is part of Spire Metering Technology's AMI system, providing a data rich communications platform between the end point meters, repeaters and a utility’s communication server. Data flow is structured around three principal areas: Data Source (end point meters), Data Acquisition (the components responsible for collecting and communicating), and Data Control. The concentrator is capable of 2-way real time communication between the concentrator and the utility communication server. Remote network diagnostics is enabled between the utility communication server and the concentrator. The 280C-5 has a 360° area wireless coverage. The GPRS programmable gateway Cellular Modem offers quad-band GPRS connectivity and links the 280C-5 to the fixed system management network. The 280C-5 is a powerful M-Bus master which communicates with its slaves through an RF wireless port. It is able to discover slave meters, assign an M-Bus address to each meter.

Spire Metering - Model 280C-1 - SpireCapture Series Smart M-Bus Concentrator

The 280C-1 Smart M-Bus Concentrator is a member of the 4th generation of concentrators from Spire Metering Technology. Compared to other variations, the 280C-1 provides an intelligent gateway to link an M-Bus network with a data center through various communication methods including RS232, RS485, Ethernet, GPRS wireless and BACnet. The device includes an optional second uplink port which can link an M-Bus network to both an AMR system and BMS at the same time. This allows an Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system to read utility meters for billing purposes and allows a BMS system to access the same utility meters for security and property management purposes. An M-Bus system is a simple two-wire bus system, widely used in utility metering. It is not only reliable, but also easy and economical to implement.
