Other Safety Training
Inland Waterside Safety and Rescue Training
There are a number of incidents each year where employees are potentially at risk from injury or loss of life due to working in close proximity to water. Employers have a duty of care and must be aware of the dangers presented at such places and ensure that the safety of all concerned in these activities is maintained through pre-planning and/or Dynamic Risk Assessment.
COSHH Awareness for Health and Safety Training
This course is useful for managers and staff using chemicals or hazardous substances at work that can put people`s health at risk. The law requires employers to control exposure to hazardous substances to prevent ill health and they have to protect both employees and others who may be exposed by complying with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. The course content includes health and safety legislation, hazard identification, emergency spillage procedures and decontamination procedures.
Asbestos Awareness Training
Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous material that has been a popular building material since the 1950s. It is used as an insulator (to keep in heat and keep out cold), has good fire protection properties and protects against corrosion. Because asbestos is often mixed with another material, it`s hard to know if you`re working with it or not. But, if you work in a building built before the year 2000, it`s likely that some parts of the building will contain asbestos.
Manual Handling Training
The course content will increase the safety awareness and risk assessment skills of managers and supervisors and will enable them to carry out assessments of handling tasks covered by these regulations. This course is designed for anyone who is involved in the manual handling of materials, and those who are likely to be required to carry out manual handling assessments.
Abrasive Wheels
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations require that before any person mounts an abrasive wheel they must undertake a period of training in accordance with the regulations. Delegates completing this course will be aware of their responsibilities under the law and gain an understanding of how wheel specification affect the performance of the wheel and be able to change and dress wheels so operators can carry out their duties confidently.
