SludgeManager - Solar-Thermal Sludge Drying Plants
The SludgeManager combines the good points of the proven Electric Mole™, such as robustness, ease of maintenance and stainless-steel construction, with the advantages of fully automated operation. It has been developed jointly by Thermo-System, the ACAT company and the University of Hohenheim. In contrast to the drying process with the Electric Mole, the SludgeManager™ can convey the sludge lengthwise or crosswise at will. This makes continuous operation of the plant possible, with loading and removal points anywhere.

Thermo - Automatic Turning Robot for Solar Batch and Storage Dryer
The Electric Mole is a fully automatic turning robot and is used in SolarBatch and StorageDryer concepts. The robot distributes, turns, mixes and aerates the sludge evenly and in accordance with the plant configuration and drying conditions. The machine consists of a minimum of moving parts and features an extremely robust stainless steel construction. Since the turning robot moves freely through the drying hall, the hall dimensions (width-length) are very flexible. In addition, the Electric Mole can be removed from the hall at any time. This additionally favors the ease of maintenance and redundancy of the plant. In addition, references with more than 20 years of operation underline the efficiency and longevity of this solution. A further development of the Electric Mole with the 3D laser scanning system LiDAR enables an additional increase in performance and simplified operation.
Thermo SludgeManager - Automatic Turning Device for Sludge Distribution and Mixing
The SludgeManager is a flexible, fully automatic turning device used in SolarFlow concepts to distribute, mix, turn and transport sludge. With the light bridge construction, hall widths of 10-20 m can be realized. Due to the high span, depending on the climate zone, it is possible to process 2 500-3 000 m2 of drying area with only one unit. As the SludgeManager can also transport the sludge in cross direction, point-to-point transport can be realized. For this reason, a drying hall can be operated with only one infeed and discharge point each. This leads to significant cost savings in conveying technology. In addition, the SludgeManager travels directly on the top of the wall, no additional rails are necessary. The AHC® (Automatic Height Control) automatic height mapping system ensures that the turning device automatically adjusts to uneven ground and that the filling level of the hall is reliably determined.
Thermo SludgeTiller - Fully Automatic Turning Device for Standard System
The SludgeTiller is a fully automatic turning device for standard system concepts with hall widths of up to 12.2 m. This machine essentially consists of a stable mobile frame and a rotating drum with turning tools that covers the entire width of the drying bed. This enables the SludgeTiller to distribute, mix and turn the drying material extremely efficiently. The integrated sludge height measurement ensures optimum penetration depths for turning and, if required, for piling up the sludge. The frame, turning drum and turning tools are available in galvanized steel or stainless steel. In addition, the SludgeTiller fits entirely into a container, which optimizes both freight and installation costs. Mounting directly on the top of the wall without additional rails not only saves valuable space, but also simplifies installation and maintenance.

Thermo SolarBatch - Drying Sewage Sludge, Digestate and Various Other Substrates
The SolarBatch concept is a batchwise process for drying sewage sludge, digestate and various other substrates. The material to be dried is brought into the drying hall, usually by wheel loader or push-off trailer. Using free solar energy and with the help of the Electric Mole, a fully automatic turning robot, and a ventilation system, the material is uniformly dried to the desired DS content. Removal is again carried out by means of a wheel loader. Due to its simplicity and robustness, the THERMO-SYSTEM SolarBatch concept is the most widely used worldwide. A further development of the Electric Mole with the 3D laser scanning system LiDAR allows an additional increase in performance and a simplified operation.
