PFAS, a component of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF), is different than the contaminants we have been treating for the last 30 years. On the atriplef.com website, we discuss how this affects our solutions, particularly when we face the challenge of removing AFFF from firefighting vehicles and equipment. The web page touches on:

Project Summary

TRS Group, Inc. (TRS), as a subcontractor to AECOM, completed a Standard Fixed Price Remediation (SFPR) of trichloroethene (TCE) in groundwater in Western Connecticut using Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH). The objective of the ERH project was to achieve the prescribed remediation goal for dissolved TCE in groundwater within the treatment volume. The system incorporated 89 electrodes with co-located vapor recovery (VR) wells to treat a soil volum

TRS Group, Inc. (TRS) was retained by Anderson Mulholland and Associates, Inc. (AMAI) to perform an Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH) remediation of DNAPL in soil at the former Topps Dry Cleaners property in Fair Lawn, NJ. The remedial goal of this project was a reduction of tetrachloroethene (PCE) in soil to less than 1 milligram per kilogram (mg/kg) in every soil sample. Final confirmatory soil sampling indicated that all soil samples were below 1 mg/kg PCE and average soil concentrations

The U.S. EPA Region 10 office uses an adaptive site management approach that relies on high-resolution site characterization (HRSC) techniques for strategic sampling at the Well 12A project area. This approximate one-square-mile project area is one of three at the 2.5-square-mile Commencement Bay-South Tacoma Channel Superfund site in Tacoma, Washington. The vicinity of Well 12A, one of 13 wells used by the City of Tacoma to meet peak summer and emergency water demands, contains high concentr

Guaranteed Remediation of TCE and PCE under Active Facility

Project Summary

TRS Group, Inc. (TRS) working with FLOYD|SNIDER a local Seattle consulting firm, completed a guaranteed fixed price remediation (GFPR) of tetrachloroethene (PCE) and trichloroethene (TCE) in soil at an active bulk chemical warehouse and distribution facility in Seattle, Washington. This contaminant source area remediation project was performed in accordance with

Guaranteed Remediation of TCE and 1,1-DCE in Soil and Bedrock

Project Summary

TRS Group implemented an electrical resistance heating (ERH) remedy to remove trichloroethylene (TCE) in overburden soil surrounding a former dry well located at a manufacturing facility in Shenandoah, Virginia. TCE soil concentrations were measured at levels that were indicative of separate-phase liquid. Initial mass-in-place calculations estimated that there were
