Environmental Services

Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) Services

Environmental site assessments are conducted to assess past and present land use practices, site operations and conditions, and to identify the potential presence of hazardous substances (including hazardous wastes and/or petroleum products) on or adjacent to the Project Site, which could impose an environmental liability on the Project Site.

Brownfield Properties

A Brownfield is a property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. It is estimated that there are more than 450,000 brownfields in the U.S.  Georgia has followed the lead of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in promoting the re-development of properties that are contaminated (or perceived to be contaminated), through the Hazardous Site Reuse and Redevelopment Act (HSRA).

Geophysical Engineering Services

Ground Penetrating Radar Services

United Consulting has in-house capabilities to perform subsurface studies by the ground penetrating radar technique. We utilize a GSSI SIR-2 system and the latest software technology to locate metallic and nonmetallic underground objects. Our site studies provide accurate focal depths, location and geometry of buried objects.Applicability Using traditional methods for mapping and detecting subsurface features can be time consuming and costly. The ground penetrating radar technique is quick, easy, accurate and cost effective. Information, which was formally difficult to obtain, can now be acquired rapidly through this non-destructive technique.

Seismic Refraction Surveys Services

Unexpectedly encountering rock during site development can be very costly to a well-balanced job budget. United Consulting utilizes the seismic refraction technique to assist our clients in avoiding this costly encounter by providing “up-front” information as to where rock and/or partially weathered rock may affect grading activities.

Subsurface Utility Engineering Services

Subsurface Utility Engineering is branch of engineering practice that involves managing certain risks associated with utility mapping at appropriate quality levels, utility coordination, utility relocation design and coordination, utility condition assessment, communication of utility data to concerned parties, utility relocation cost estimates, implementation of utility accommodation policies and utility design. Cost savings on typical projects using Quality Level A and B may range from 10% to 15% (compared with costs from a project using Level C and D data). Each ascending level described below typically includes the subordinate levels.

Inspection Services

Property Condition Survey Services
