Wastewater Aerator

WesTech - Landy 7 Surface Aerator

The most recent advancement to surface aerator technology can be seen in the LANDY-7 impeller. The Landy impellers have always incorporated a sturdy design with zero failures due to cracked, sheared, or broken impeller blades. This new impeller increases oxygen transfer efficiency and reduces axial and radial loads. The LANDY-7 provides a guaranteed minimum efficiency of 3.8 pounds of oxygen per horsepower hour. This improved transfer efficiency saves significant operational costs over the life of the equipment. The reduced axial and radial loads increase the life of the drive unit and reduce the size of support structures and beams for the surface aerators.

WesTech - ExtremeDuty™ Sludge Mixer

WesTech ExtremeDuty™ Sludge Mixers provide vigorous mixing of digester contents to prevent stratification and improve the anaerobic process. They reliably speed gas production while reducing foaming and scum accumulation. This rugged design was originally developed to reduce the high service costs of egg-shaped digester mixers. It has proven to be so reliable that the ExtremeDuty Sludge Mixer is now used for maximum efficiency and durability in all WesTech digester mixing applications.

Biological Treatment

WesTech - Ana-Flo™ Reactor

Overview of the Ana-Flo Reactor, Configured as an Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket System: The Ana-Flo™ reactor produces biogas with a high concentration of methane. When this byproduct is captured, it can be used as an energy source to generate electricity for the plant or to put back in the grid, providing customers with equipment that does double duty. The Ana-Flo, a methanogenic (methane producing) reactor configured as an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) system, can be used as a pretreatment stage for waste streams with elevated levels of BOD and COD. It works by consuming the influent carbon in a temperature-controlled environment under the absence of oxygen. The byproducts are a treated effluent and usable methane gas. WesTech offers further treatment options for the effluent, such as aerobic treatment for further reduction of BOD/COD, nutrient removal steps, or capture and storage of the biogasproduced by the Ana-Flo.

WesTech - BioDoc™ Trickling Filter Rotary Distributor

The BioDoc™ Trickling Filter Rotary Distributor is a patented system for optimizing the performance of trickling filters. It consists of a motor drive, a programmable logic controller (PLC) and a flexible program of speed variation designed for individual treatment plants. If power to the unit is stopped due to outage or interruption, the motor disengages the gearing, allowing the unit to spin hydraulically until power is restored. With the dosing rate optimized, the trickling filter can become the most efficient process equipment in the plant, and plant performance overall is greatly improved.

WesTech - BioTreater™ Biological Treatment and Clarification System

The BioTreater™ Biological Treatment and Clarification System combines the biological treatment system and clarification into a compact design utilizing common wall construction. The biological treatment is located at the periphery in a ring-shaped area while the clarification stage is in the central region. The treatment system is fully expandable for complete biological nutrient removal. The system can also be designed to incorporate aerobic sludge holding, flow equalization, post aeration and chlorine contact chamber.
