Many industrial water projects are conducted with a view to cost savings, reuse, new legislation and environmental requirements. The contents of these projects are highly varied, because industrial process water and effluent are just as diverse as industry itself. That is why Witteveen+Bos applies a practical and pragmatic approach to each individual project. We combine this approach with the application of new techniques. Constantly increasing mobility gives rise to a raft of different issues for administrators and for experts. Traditionally, the central issue has always been the accessibility of facilities and the handling of traffic. Various traffic-related problems also figure prominently. These concern such matters as intrusive parked vehicles, traffic safety and the relationship with spatial development and the environment (issues like noise abatement and air quality).

A railway is a sophisticated transport system that stands on its own because of its dedicated network. Railway designs require highly specialised knowledge of operating trains and of infrastructure, track and line construction, overhead power cables, train safety and project management. In an enterprise called Railinfra Solutions, Witteveen+Bos cooperates with Royal Haskoning and DB International, Germany’s premier rail infrastructure company that operates nationally and internationally. The three companies have bundled their knowledge and expertise in this joint enterprise to offer total rail infrastructure solutions. An exclusive cooperation agreement has been signed with a fourth party, Verebus Engineering, for the dedicated field of train safety. Railinfra Solutions has been fully accredited by prorail.
