Commercial Mixed Recycling
Everyone is responsible for reducing their carbon footprint. At home you all help to do this when you recycle your glass, paper, cardboard, plastic and cans which, along with food waste, are the most common type of waste produced. It is absolutely no different in the workplace and whether you are a small company with just a few employees of a large multi-national with thousands of employees, the principle remains the same.
Confidential Waste
We unfortunately live in an age where identify theft and fraud is all too common. The costs to an individual or a company of information ending up in the wrong hands can be personally and financially devastating. Yorwaste is able to take this danger away though its confidential waste collection and destruction service. Using our high capacity, cross cut shredding technology we are able to safely destroy confidential paper to prevent information falling in to the hands of fraudsters.
Engineered Landfill
Landfill is always the last option for the disposal of waste. All of our landfill sites operate to the highest environmental standards and are subject to strict regulation and monitoring. Using power generating plants, Yorwaste harnesses the gases emitted from landfill to generate almost 10MW of renewable and clean energy that is fed directly back into the National Grid. Communities living near to our landfill sites are consulted and informed about the work of the sites, and through Yorventure, an independent not-for-profit Environmental Body, grants are distributed to community and environmental projects through the Landfill Communities Fund with landfill tax credits generated by Yorwaste. A landfill is constructed to include containment systems and structure designed to protect the environment. These measures include lining systems, gas pipes, rainwater collection control and monitoring boreholes.
Liquid Waste
Yorwaste’s liquid treatment facility offers a comprehensive treatment process for a wide range of liquids, oil/waters and solids. The facility offers three phase separation process for oils, liquids and solids and is supported by laboratory facilities and a fully documented waste audit trail system. The treatment plant integrates perfectly with on on-site bio-treatment lagoons to provide a final solution for the liquid fractions.
