Concrete Cutting Contractors use our LP555SDT for saw slurry clean‐up. Concrete cutting using a Diamond Saw is the process of cutting expansion joints on freshly paved concrete roads. After cutting, water is used to eliminate dust thereby creating a slurry. This slurry has to be cleaned up due to EPA Regulations and the Vac-Tron vacuum excavator is the preferred clean-up method. Using water to create the slurry and then using the LP Series - Wet/Dry Industrial Vacuum Excavation System to eliminate any residue. Geosynthetic Lining for Highway and Civil Applications

GCL can be used in highway and civil applications such as at airport de-icing facilities used to remove ice build up on the surfaces of planes. During the application process, glycol-based de-icing fluids can leak into local stormwater runoff, potentially causing pollution. CETCO GCLs were found compatible with de-icing fluid (glycol diluted 50/50 with water). GCLs can also be used to line roadway drainage swales for containment and prevent excessive percolation, thereby minimizing potential for groundwater contamination. Another example of using GCL in civil and highway applications is using the liner to contain acid rock and prevent runoff from entering the local water supply.

Deforestation causes an increase in the rate of run off of rainwater resulting in lower percolation of precipitation into the soil and a consequent increase in soil erosion leading to slope instability, hence land and mud slides. The increased rate of run off can cause small streams and large rivers to rise and flood in a shorter time, but also to dry up sooner. These conditions cause great difficulties for subsistence farmers in developing countries. Urbanisation also causes faster run off because of the non permeable surfaces such as roads, roofs and car parks. This also creates drainage problems that can lead to contamination and erosion of natural water courses.
