ADS - Air Sparging (AS) & Fluid Delivery System
ADS air sparging is an in-situ treatment technology for injecting atmospheric air, ozone, or liquids below ground into contaminated soils and groundwater. Air sparging & fluid delivery are very useful in reducing concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which are absorbed in soils or dissolved in groundwater.

Horizontally drilled piping is the easiest to install and the most cost-effective way to deliver oxygen to contaminated areas. ADS air sparging has been used to treat BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene), MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether), and other volatile hydrocarbons or petroleum-based products.
ADS Air Sparging Advantages
- Simple design, installation, and operation - only one moving part
- Custom designed for each application
- Implemented with minimal disturbance to site operations
- Short treatment times (usually less than 1 to 3 years under optimal conditions)
- Less costly and more effective than above-ground treatment systems or vertical injection wells
- Requires no removal, treatment, storage, or discharge considerations for groundwater
- Ideally suited for operations requiring soil vapor extraction (SVE)
