Tramfloc - Model 109 -Anionic Flocculant
Tramfloc 109 is an anionic polyacrylamide of medium molecular weight and moderate charge density. Tramfloc2 109 is supplied as a stable, high density emulsion. Tramfloc2 109 is completely water soluble and produces high viscosity solutions at very low concentrations. Tramfloc2 109 is used as general flocculant in a variety of industrial, mining, paper making, and municipal operations.
Uses
Tramfloc2 109 is used as floe builder and after the addition of poly DMDAC or epiamine coagulants. Tramfloc2 109 is used alone or with primary coagulants for clarification, DAF/IAF, mineral applications, and phosphate and multivalent metal salt removal.
Make-Down
It is recommended that stock solutions, 0.2-0.5%, be prepared from which feed solutions, 0.05-0.1%, are then made.
Packaging
Tramfloc2 109 is available in 450# net weight drums, tote bins, and in bulk.
Handling and Storage
Polymer solutions should be made-down and diluted in stainless steel, FRP or plastic vessels. Amphoteric metallic components should be avoided. Make-down water temperatures should be between 60-85° F. Tramfloc2 109 should be stored in a cool, dry place.
Safety and Health
Spills of polymer are extremely slippery. Precautions should be taken to prevent them from entering lakes or streams. TramflocE Polymer Cleaner 348 can be used to remove residue from equipment and floors. Polymer can be flushed with copious amounts of water and disposed of according to local regulations or treated with an absorbent material, then collected for subsequent legal disposal. TramflocE 109 has been shown to exhibit a low order of toxicity. Nevertheless, precaution should be taken to prevent inhalation, ingestion or contact with skin or eyes. Observing basic industrial hygiene precautions should prevent any health or safety hazards.
