Cerex - Model UV SCOUT Series -Fixed Point-Gas Analyzer
The Cerex UV SCOUT is a fixed, point-gas analyzer that excels in the monitoring of key UV-detectable target gases in various applications (ie. Refinery Fenceline Monitoring, Indoor Air Safety Monitoring, Leak Detection and Repair).
- Multi-gas monitoring of individual species
- PPB Minimum Detection Limits
- No water vapor interference
- Inherent calibration
- No sensors to poison
Depending on your application, the path length may be increased up to 22 meters for a 20% improvement in detection capability.
Measurements: 39” x 21” x 11” (99.06cm x 53.34cm x 27.94cm)
Weight: 125lbs (56.7kg)
Performance Specs
Optical Path Length: 2 – 20 meters Internal Analysis Path
Battery Life: 4 hours standard, up to 14 hours with additional batteries or continuous operation on AC Power Maintenance
- Sample Intake Filter
- Enclosure Air Filter
- UV Source– warranted for 4000 hours of operation, typically exceeds 5000 hours
Only three consumables make up the UV SCOUT. All are field replaceable in under 15 minutes.
In 2024, the US EPA issued several regulations including the HON (Hazardous Organic NESHAP) Final Rules, in an effort to reduce the number of hazardous air pollutants. As of 2025, Cerex continues to monitor changing regulations surrounding EPA Hon Final Rules.
The UV SCOUT can detect, in under 5 seconds;
- Benzene (MDL 3.0 ppb)
- Chloroprene and 1,3-Butadiene (1.0 ppb MDL)
- Ammonia, Nitric Oxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, and more
The UV SCOUT complies with other US EPA regulations including:
- HON Rule for Benzene, 1,3-Butadiene, Chloroprene, Ethylene Dichloride, Vinyl Chloride
- 40 CFR § 63.658 / USEPA Method 325 A/B
- SCAQMD Rule 1180
- BAAQMD Refinery Regulation 12 Rule 15
- USEPA TO-16
- RCER-202
Our engineers are happy to discuss how we can help you meet other required regulations.
