AWWA standard
The standard design consists of a frame and a sliding gate, and depending on the pressure, the channel penstock can also provided with polyurethane slides that guide the gate in its course. In the case of higher water heads roller guiding elements can also be considered. Notwithstanding the material of the gate, the tightness is achieved by the contact between a soft seal joint and a stainless steel surface.
