Drum Type Sludge Thickener
Continual research and development during the design and manufacture of approximately 400 mechanical sludge thickeners has enabled Euroby`s supplier to develop a new improved mechanical rotating sludge thickener. Its inherent features are: high hydraulic capacity, high solids capture, low shear flocculation, low environmental impact, minimal space requirements.
The drum thickener benefits from multi zones created by annular discs which when adjusting the outlet enables independent control of the sludge residence period in each zone. To improve performance in solids capture, each zone can be fitted with different filter media - from fine at the inlet to improve solids capture to course at the outlet to enhance water removal.
The thickener is manufactured in stainless steel and is fully enclosed to minimise odours and environmental impact, however, inspection doors and removable side panels are provided to allow for easy access and maintenance.
With a typical solids concentration of 0.3% - 1.0%, sludge can be thickened to achieve a dry solids content in the range of 3% - 12%.
There are 150 installations worldwide covering a wide range of industries, the majority of which are in sewage sludge thickening, with throughputs ranging from 10m3/h to in excess of 70m3/h, depending upon the feed and the required output concentration.
