The following treatment steps can be performed by the make-up air handling units:
- Thermal treatment: cooling, heating
- Humidity treatment: dehumidification, humidification (spray humidifier, steam humidifier)
- Particular contamination treatment: filtration of air, depending on cleanliness requirements
- Airborne molecular contamination (AMC) treatment: treatment via air scrubbing; so called "air-washer" (solvents, bases). Treatment via chemical filtration (acids, solvents, bases and dopants)
