PycnoPlast - Model Pycno 583 -Fire Retardant Masterbatch

It is very important to process ADD-FR 583 below 240 °C, preferably around 220 °C. Above this extrusion temperature (and depending on the residence time) an unpleasant smell may develop during production which might be present in the final product as well. Before shutdown the processing equipment should be flushed with natural material to avoid decomposition of materials.

- Storage and handling: 12 months from delivery in original packaging. Keep in : cool, dry and well-ventilated area.
- Temperature stability: The product may be suitable for processing temperatures up to 240 °C, lower temperatures are recommended, preferably around 220 °C.
- Dosing rate: The required dosing rate depends on the substrate, processing conditions and application. Trials are always required to establish the let-down ratio of this masterbatch with regard to the flame-retardant standards to be met. Typical dosing rate is 9%.
- Dosing equipment: Volumetric or gravimetric dosing units.
- Processing equipment: Tapes / film extruders, spinning lines as well as injection moulding machines.
