Flydog Oscar - Lake Profiling Buoy / Data Buoy
Profiling Buoy ‘Oscar’ is designed to be an end to end solution. The sensors are moved through the vertical water column by an on-board winch making measurements on the way. Oscar features two-way communication, enabling real-time control and responsiveness. The platform`s remote configurability allows for adjustments in profiling depths and schedules as needed, and manual profiles can be initiated rapidly. Setting up alerts for various parameters is straightforward; for instance, if the GPS position shifts or any measured parameter goes out of preset range, the system automatically sends SMS and email notifications. The profiling buoy is ran by our Flybox data-logger that merges a hardware controller with data logging capabilities. This device stands out with its modular I/O, extensive data transfer options, and capabilities for remote configuration and diagnostics.

Light Weight
OSCAR profiling buoy weighs 240 kg and can be deployed and serviced on lakes with small boats. Using two mooring lines keeps the profiling cable safe from tangling with the mooring lines.
High Resolution
Lowering the sensors at 10 cm/sec speed results in high resolution vertical profile. Efficient winch module allows profiling up to every 15 minutes depending on deployment depth.
