ResinTech - Model IT-5 -Inert Media Floating Support Bed for Use in Packed Beds
ResinTech IT-1 is an inert low density support media for packed beds. IT-5 is significantly less dense than water and is rectangular in shape. IT-5 is intended to float above the active resin in packed bed ion exchangers. ResinTech IT-5 acts as an upper support bed and prevents resin fines from clogging distributer screens. IT-5 is supplied in an inert form.

Support Layer for Packed Beds
ResinTech IT-5 is an inert floating support bed designed for use in packed bed demineralizers. The inert material fills the space between the top of the resin bed and the upper distributor/collector and minimizes the total freeboard. The inert media prevents resin fines from blocking the distributor screens and reduces pressure loss. The media also acts as a support bed to promote even liquid distribution and prevent channeling.
