GEA FiltrationModel T -Membrane Filtration Pilot Plant

FromGEA
SHARE

The GEA Filtration Model T pilot plant is a pilot-scale plant designed for application development of ceramic microfiltration and ultrafiltration. The unit can be configured for evaluation of separation characteristics of up to three different membrane porosities in parallel or it may be used to optimize process parameters once a particular porosity of membrane has been determined.

The Model T is specially designed to allow for very precise separations utilizing state-of-the-art, gradient layered ceramic membranes operating under tightly controlled transmembrane pressure. Alternately, it can be used for more conventional ceramic membrane filtration applications. The sophisticated control system design allows for convenient manipulation of a variety of process variables including cross-flow velocity, operating pressure, temperature and transmembrane pressure making the plant uniquely suited to complex molecular separations.

  1. Listed CIP flow is not required for operation, however, smoother operation and faster flushing will be obtained with greater flowrates.
  2. Use of cooling water and steam will vary greatly depending upon specific process conditions. Steam is often used only for CIP. Listed requirements are purposely left broad.
  3. A single heat exchanger is installed, connections must be changed or valving installed for heating or cooling selection.
  4. Air supply must be at least 80 psi at all times for proper operation. Actual air consumption is limited and is used for operation of level and temperature control, and other automatic valves.
  5. Drains must be capable of keeping up with expected discharges.
  6. Several blank ferrules will be supplied with the unit. These may be welded to pipe fittings, clamped into hoses, or otherwise modified, as required to aid in hooking up the plant.
  7. Supplying power to the panel is the responsibility of the renter/buyer.
  8. Due to limitations of the VFD`s, incoming voltage must be as listed. If voltage differs, use of an external transformer will be required. Depending on availability, GEA Filtration may be able to furnish one with the system. Please inquire at time of rental for further information.
