Orbit - Model 20 -Rotary Smoking Machine
The brand new Orbit 20 is a semi-automatic 20 pod : rotary smoking machine designed to comply with ISO 3308. With an innovative sealing ring design, the Orbit 20 allows capture systems to be attached directly behind the sample eliminating the inaccuracies when smoking "intense" regimes caused by vapour and particulate matter condensing in the dead-volume and bends between the sample and capture pad system that exist in some other machines.
For most routine applications the smoke is trapped using a standard 92 mm CFH. However it is also possible to smoke using a wide range of alternative trapping systems such as 20 individual 44mm CFH, impingers or an electrostatic trap. The intuitive touch screen PC based user-interface provides a wide range of parameter options with which to customise smoking. The inbuilt database supports connectivity for remote data access.
Automated systems incorporated into the design ensure reliable and repeatable lighting, puffing and termination. The smoke extraction system is designed to mimic the airflow pattern found in Cerulean`s range of linear smoking machines. The Orbit 20 is optimised for the capture of low yield smoke components such as metals through the selection of appropriate construction material and through a quickly removable carousel for routine cleaning to avoid cross contamination between runs.
