OSI - Model 3F 360-Degree Series -Floating Weir Skimmer
The 3F 360 floating weir skimmer features 3 floats and a central intake weir capable of skimming oil from all directions (360 degrees). The center weir can be adjusted to take more or less of a cut of the oil layer on the water`s surface. Ideal for spill clean up, or as the first stage of oil removal prior to separation or further wastewater treatment. A mesh screen surrounds the center weir to prevent intake of debris and clogging of the skimmer.
Models and Oil Recovery rates
- 3F360-1: 27 gallons/minute
- 3F360-1.5: 35 gallons/minute
- 3F360-2: 55 gallons/minute
- 3F360-3: 150 gallons/minute
- 3F360-4: 320 gallons/minute
If you need to remove large quantities of oil in a limited amount of time and accomplish that removal at high rates, 3F Series floating weir skimmers are the solution. These skimmers can be set up and deployed easily by one person — a distinct advantage when fast response is required because of a spill, leak or sudden increase in oil volume.
- High volume oil removal with continuous operation
- Floating skimmers easily adjust and continue to operate what water levels fluctuate
- Simple and effective skimmers with few moving parts require little maintenance
Some of the most common applications for floating oil skimmers are:
- Power generation plants
- Oil refineries
- Frac water tanks
- Food harvesting and processing facilities
- Duckweed removal from ponds
- Emergency spill response
- Industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants
- Chemical processing plants
- Industrial process water treatment
- Stormwater treatment
- Vacuum truck services
Weir skimmers quickly, easily, and safely skim oil, grease, and other floating solids like duckweed from the surface of water. Removing oil first, before other wastewater treatment like ultra-filtration or chemical treaments, makes the processes more effective and less costly. If oil remained in the wastewater to blind filters and effect chemical treatment, regular maintenace and frequent, costly replacement of filters and chemicals would be required.
In any application where oil or other contaminant is floating freely on the surface of water, but implemenation of a Brill™ tube type oil skimmer does not apply. This could be due to location, space limitations, power supply, the substance being recovered does not adhere to the tube, or the required recovery rate exceeds that of tube skimmer.
- Additional lengths of floating or non-floating suction hose
- Debris screen
- Variety of pumps for operation and oil transfer
- Swing arm systems
- Hose floats and swing arm floats
Floating oil skimmers are extremely versatile and used in a wide range of industries. An easy-to-install weir skimmer works without supervision and consistently prevents a halt in operations due to oil build up.
