ANTEC - Model LUMIN -Purge and Trap Concentrator
The LUMIN Purge & Trap sample preparation system from Teledyne Tekmar effectively removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from aqueous samples using helium or nitrogen. These VOCs are then transferred to a sorption trap, released under heat, and analyzed via gas chromatography. The LUMIN system is a culmination of seven previous generations of VOC equipment, building on the proven efficacy of the Purge and Trap technique. The method involves introducing a purge gas through a sample matrix to collect VOCs in an analytical trap. The LUMIN features key components essential for accurate Purge & Trap analysis, including an electronic mass flow controller (MFC), superior trap technology, and an inert sample pathway. The U-shaped trap is designed to adsorb VOCs while minimizing unwanted water accumulation. The system's ultra-fast trap heater ensures rapid desorption of VOCs, while a specialized cooling mechanism minimizes downtime, boosting throughput. The inert sample pathway reduces carryover for reliable calibration. The LUMIN also integrates advanced features like moisture control, automatic leak checks, foam detection, and software-driven diagnostic and self-test capabilities.Cycle Time: less than 15 minutes
