ANTECModel LUMIN -Purge and Trap Concentrator

SHARE
The LUMIN Purge & Trap sample preparation system from Teledyne Tekmar effectively removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from aqueous samples using helium or nitrogen. These VOCs are then transferred to a sorption trap, released under heat, and analyzed via gas chromatography. The LUMIN system is a culmination of seven previous generations of VOC equipment, building on the proven efficacy of the Purge and Trap technique. The method involves introducing a purge gas through a sample matrix to collect VOCs in an analytical trap. The LUMIN features key components essential for accurate Purge & Trap analysis, including an electronic mass flow controller (MFC), superior trap technology, and an inert sample pathway. The U-shaped trap is designed to adsorb VOCs while minimizing unwanted water accumulation. The system's ultra-fast trap heater ensures rapid desorption of VOCs, while a specialized cooling mechanism minimizes downtime, boosting throughput. The inert sample pathway reduces carryover for reliable calibration. The LUMIN also integrates advanced features like moisture control, automatic leak checks, foam detection, and software-driven diagnostic and self-test capabilities.

Teledyne Tekmar's LUMIN Purge & Trap Sample Preparation System uses helium or nitrogen to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from aqueous samples. The VOCs are trapped on aSorptionsfalle transferiert und dann unter Hitze freigesetzt und im Gaschromatograph analysiert.

Our VOC devices have been built since  1974. Since then, one innovative device generation after the next has been developed based on the original "Purge and Trap" technology. The Lumin builds on seven previous generations and is therefore a milestone in technical development.

The fundamentals of purge and trap have been proven over the years. By bubbling a purge gas through sample matrix, VOCs are removed and collected on an analytical trap. After purging is complete, the trap is heated and the VOCs are released and fed to a gas chromatograph for separation and detection. The Lumin uses components that are absolutely essential for successful purge and trap analysis. These are an electronic flow controller (MFC), superior trap technology and an inert sample path.

The heart and soul of all our purge and trap systems is the Mass Flow Controller. The MFC delivers the purge gas with unmatched precision and accuracy. The most advantageous feature of the MFC is the ability to instantly change gas flows via the Teklink software at any time during the purge and trap process.

The Lumin's U-shaped trap offers outstanding advantages. The U-shaped trap is able to adsorb the VOCs of interest while minimizing the accumulation of unwanted compounds such as water. The Ultra-Fast Trap Heater ensures that the U-shaped trap is quickly desorbed and the VOCs are quickly released to the GC system. Equally important, the Lumin cools the trap faster thanks to an improved fan and special ducting. These features allow for precise control of the trap's cooling air, reducing overall run time and increasing sample throughput.

The key to minimizing carryover is the inert sample path. The tubing and fittings have been treated to achieve unprecedented low carryover, allowing the user to calibrate more reliably.
