Fields of application Stabilisation and processing masterbatch for producing glass mat reinforced polypropylene (GMT) and long fibre reinforced PP materials (LFTs). Examples Long fibre reinforced materials for automotive parts, like undercover shields, dashboard carriers, assembly carriers, front panels, front bumpers etc. Mode of action Contains a combination of heat stabilisers, coupling agents and carbon black. Heat stabilisers inhibit the thermo-oxidative degradation by radical scavenging and decomposing reactive hydroperoxides. Coupling agents provide a strong and stable bond between the glass fibres and the polymer by improving the polypropylene reactivity with amino-silane treated glass reinforcements.
