Pfeiffer - Model SplitFlow -Turbomolecular Vacuum Pump
SplitFlow turbopumps feature a hybrid bearing system and are able to generatehigh and even ultra-high vacuum levels. While other vacuum pumps require adjusting settings or selecting a special model to meet specific requirements, the modular design of SplitFlow turbopumps allows you totailor your individual pumpto meet the specific needs of your process. Our customization allows for targeted vacuum levels or pumping speeds, making the SplitFlow aflexible and efficient choicefor analytical applications such as mass spectrometry and leak detection.
- Smallest possible footprint
- Customizable design
- Reliable hybrid bearing technology
- High performance due to multiple stages
SplitFlow turbopumps deliver high pumping speeds while being extremely energy efficient. They incorporate the hybrid bearing system also used in HiPace turbopumps. This bearing type, which combines a ball and a permanent magnetic bearing, ensures a long service life. The magnetic bearing uses the forces of electromagnets to stabilize and balance the rotors without physical contact, minimizing wear inside the pump.
SplitFlow vacuum pumps consist of multiple stages separated by rotor stacks. This configuration allows SplitFlow turbopumps to achieve progressively higher vacuum levels with each stage, eliminating the need for multiple turbopumps. This makes them ideal for use in high-vacuum systems with limited space, such as mass spectrometers.
Analytical systems such as liquid chromatography-mass spectrometers (LC-MS) require different vacuum levels, pumping speeds or gas loads at different stages of the process. The modular pumping stages of SplitFlow pumps, equipped with different rotor and stator disk arrays, can be easily customized to meet these diverse needs. The pumps have multiple inlets, each leading to a chamber within the mass spectrometer. Each of these chambers can have different conditions. The rotors of the SplitFlow stages are adapted to the required conditions in each section.
For maximum flexibility, SplitFlow vacuum pumps feature a compact design and can be operated in any mounting position. Additionally, SplitFlow turbopumps allow seamless connection to external control units, backing pumps, gauges and valves for easy set-up and operation.
