CGA is a member of the Canadian Common Ground Alliance who works with other groups and associations to:
- Encourage Canadians and excavators to visit clickb4youdig.com, phone, or use a phone app (where available) for pre-excavation utility locates;
- Have call centres in each province with membership of all underground facility owners; and
- Have legislation, like Ontario’s Act Respecting an Underground Infrastructure System , in each jurisdiction to make it mandatory for all excavators to “Click or Call Before you Dig” with penalties and enforcement methods. CCGA prepared a Damage Prevention Legislation Template to guide other jurisdictions.
