Monitoring of the variation of the groundwater level and pressure (divers, BAT-sensors). Deformations of soil constructions, like road embankments, large diameter storage tanks and buildings next to construction pits, support and supervision of pile driving and other foundation projects, support and supervision of sanitation projects, monitoring of ground constructions with water pressure gauges, inclinometers, settlement hoses,etc. Monitoring vibrations of sensitive constructions near building sites investigation of existing fundaments, sonic integrity testing of piles, soil compaction control, testing of replenishing material, pump- and infiltration tests.

For some projects it can be very important to know the groundwater level and/or water pressure during the construction phase. Different wells can be monitored in order to follow the `movements` of the groundwater level and/or pressure. The monitoring can be done on a daily basis (or several times a day) by hand. The supervisor in the field will then communicate the measured levels in the wells with the advisor in his office.

Sometimes the best way to monitor the wells is not by hand, but with a data logger. You can think of situations as:

  • a high frequency of measurements a day is needed even during the nights and weekends;
  • the monitor wells are not easily accesible.

If you need the results of the measurements fast (daily or even more), you can enhance this data log system with a GSM modem. Mos Grondmechanica has several of these systems.
With these systems it`s even possible to set an alarm-level. When the actual groundwater level and/or pressure is higher or lower as the alarm-level, a message can be send to a certain number of pre-selected mobile phone numbers. The most important specifications of the GSM units are:

  • the GSM units collect the measured data (datalogger);
  • the frequency of the measurements are pre-determined and can vary from several times a minute to a few times a day or a week;
  • the GSM modem sends the collected data at specified times via the GSM network;
  • the measured data are send in ASCII via the ftp-protocol;
  • the measurements are accesible via internet;
  • the GSM-units are independent and use batteries;
  • the batteries last for more than 6 months if data is send once a day;
  • you can set an alarm level;
  • an sms-alert is send to the selected GSM-phones when the alarm level is reached.
