RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Management for Dutyholders Training
This qualification is highly recommended for all those responsible for premises and managing the risk from asbestos as the dutyholder, such as property owners, property managers, facilities managers and health & safety managers. This Ofqual regulated RSPH qualification has been designed to support dutyholders, so they understand their duties and responsibilities on managing asbestos in buildings as defined in Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Candidates can take this qualification at an Asbestos Testing and Consultancy Association venue across the country and throughout the year. In some cases the duty holder may be the client for an asbestos removal project, therefore please take the time to read our guidance note for commercial clients.
Candidates are assessed on their practical competence, which culminates in a written exam (short answer questions), which is set and administered in conjunction with RSPH.
The qualification has been designed to cover a number of modules:
- What is asbestos?
- Asbestos surveys and duty holder responsibilities
- Asbestos management plans
- Asbestos removal practices
- Remedial works
- Plans of work and assessment
- Waste disposal and management
- Analytical requirements
- Duty to manage
On successful completion of the exam and practical task candidates will be awarded a nationally recognised RSPH certificate.
Candidates are required to have prior knowledge of all areas which are defined within the Qualification Information booklet before attendance.
Also candidates should complete the pre-reading before attendance.
