The NIST traceable Model 6.4 features an irradiation range of 0-1999 International Units of Vitamin D3 per minute, and response of 280-400 nanometers weighted to skin's Erythemal Action Spectrum. Resolution is 1 International Unit of Vitamin D3 per minute, with extremely high accuracy of +/-10%. The sensor / filter response closely follows the Erythema Action Spectrum, which enables accurate readings from virtually any UV source. The sensor itself is a silicon photodiode packaged in a hermetically sealed UV glass window cap, with an interference filter to block UV above erythemal response.
This handheld model's rugged plastic case is palm-sized for effortless portability, measuring a compact 4.2” long x 2.4” wide x 0.9” deep and weighing only 4.5 ounces, including the 9V battery. The battery works down to 6.5VDC before requiring replacement, so it should last approximately 2 years under typical service load.
