The Mipeg X system monitors the hook position. The display will give a clear visual indication of the hook with different reference points.

The boom angle is measured and calculated/converted to show the operating radius to the crane driver. Both values may be displayed on the Mipeg X operator display. The unit is normally mounted in the boom foot, on either side of the boom. The box has to be installed parallel to the boom with the gland pointing downwards when the boom is horizontal.
Aanderaa - Model MIPEG - Roll and Pitch - Vessel Movement Monitor
If there are limitations in the safe lifting due to vessel roll and pitch, the Mipeg X is now ready to monitor and alarm if the vessel moves outside the crane rated roll and pitch limits. The Pitch & Roll sensors are installed on the stationary part of the crane, below the slew ring. The sensors installed 90 degrees to each other will measure the movement ±10°. The information will be displayed and will alarm and indicate when to shut down the crane operation , if the vessel operate outside the set roll and pitch limits. Our Roll & Pitch equipment are available both in a Ex zone 1 version and for safe area applications, operating between - 40 to + 65 0C (-40 to + 150 0F) protected from the environment in IP 66/67 rated enclosures.

With Mipeg X you can integrate 3rd parties analogue sensors. By adding interface logic and software, new features can be incorporated. Anemometers are available both for safe area use as well as EX certified alternatives. Mipeg X can integrate both mechanical anemometers as well as ultrasonic sensors. The wind speed will be measured and displayed on the operator`s display. The operator may be pre-warned if the wind speed reaches pre-defined thresholds for shutting down the crane operation.

The Mipeg X is expandable and flexible. The Safe Reach Indicator may be selected and displayed as a standard option in the Safe Load Indicator package. The Safe Reach feature may be selected on the Mipeg X display. Using an easy to understand horizontal bar graph, it will not only show the operating radius but also how far you can safely go – boom down with the Safe Working Load (SWL) of the operating condition. The Safe Reach will remove any guesswork allowing the lift cycle to be planned. This may help to increase productivity, save time without compromising safety limits.

Aanderaa - Model MIPEG - Telescope Crane System
Most cranes used in the Oil and Gas offshore market have a fixed boom length. Some lattice boom cranes may change the length by adding/removing a boom section. Some box booms may, however, be a telescope boom crane. Mipeg X will measure the extended boom using an extension sensor. This input will not only show the operator the true operating radius but also adjust the safe working load capacity, SWL, accordingly.
