Water Conductivity sensors from Aanderaa are compact, fully integrated sensors for measuring conductivity of water. Conductivity of salt water is a key parameter for in-situ measurements of several fundamental physical properties of water. For saltwater, the ability to conduct electrical current is mostly dependent on temperature and the amount of inorganic dissolved solids. This means that, together with temperature and depth information, a good estimate of the water conductivity or salinity may be determined by measuring conductivity of water with an Aanderaaa conductivity sensor. Salinity is defined as the concentration of dissolved solids. This means that, together with temperature and depth information, a good estimate of the salinity may be determined. By using the inductive principle, stable measurement can be obtained with­out utilizing electrodes that are easily fouled and may wear out in the field.

Aanderaa pressure sensors are compact, intelligent pressure sensors designed for use on Aanderaa Data Instruments dataloggers as well as in other measuring systems. In most measuring systems used in the sea, pressure is a vital parameter. For moored instruments the pressure can be used for determining the actual depth of the instrument. For instrumentation on the seabed the pressure can be used for deriving water level. The pressure is also vital when deriving other parameters as density and speed of sound.

Aanderaa water temperature sensors are compact, intelligent temperature sensors designed for use on Aanderaa`s Dataloggers and as stand-alone units. A compact fully integrated sensor for measuring the water temperature. The Aanderaa Temperature Sensor is designed to be mounted on Aanderaa Recording Instruments top-end plate or connected to SmartGuard using AiCaP CANbus or in other measurement systems using the RS-232 interface. The 4060R sensor is designed for use with long cables by means of RS-422 full duplex interface.and Dataloggers. The Aanderaa Turbidity Sensors detects infra-red light scattered by particles suspended in water. The Aanderaa Turbidity Sensor is based on the Seapoint Turbidity Meter. The sensor detects light scattered by particles suspended in water. This measurement is known to have a good correlation to the amount of suspended matter in water and can be used to monitor e.g. sediment, algae or particle pollution. The turbidity sensor generates an output voltage proportional to the turbidity or suspended solids.
