At Associated Engineering, we believe that as stewards of our environment, we have a responsibility to safeguard our water, land, and air resources. Our environmental engineers and scientists embrace this philosophy. Our areas of specialty include: Environmental Science & Management, solid waste management, landfill design, composting, odour control.

Associated Engineering`s environmental specialists work closely with our clients and communities to minimize the environmental impact of human activities and develop practical mitigation measures, while considering financial sustainability. We consider the impacts of projects on the surrounding environment, including creeks, rivers and water bodies, aquatic life, birds, wildlife, trees and vegetation, and habitat, as well as communities and stakeholders. Our broad scope of services includes baseline inventory, environmental assessment, mitigation design, permitting and approvals, monitoring, reclamation and restoration, environmental management systems, and policy development. Working with owners, local, provincial, and federal regulatory agencies, and stakeholders, we identify environmental impacts, develop alternatives for remediation and mitigation, and complete design and construction of mitigative measures.

Associated Engineering`s experience comprises solid waste management plans for small communities, large urban centers, and regional municipalities, in Canada and overseas. Our approach to solid waste management integrates the principles of waste reduction, reuse, recycling, recovery, with the needs of community, and the requirements of our clients. While we consider landfilling for wastes that cannot be reused, recycled or recovered, we also assess options such as composting and incineration/waste-to-energy facilities.

Our experience includes landfill siting, design, operation and filling plans, and closure plans. We have assisted clients in locating and evaluating landfill sites, and understand the need to consider public and stakeholder acceptance, access, leachate control and treatment, aesthetics, and economics.
