Ranked consistently among the nation’s top four dam construction contractors in the U.S., we specialize in challenging dam and reservoir projects. Within the last 10 years, our work has included construction of the Saluda Backup Dam in South Carolina, which was the largest ongoing dam construction project in the country for three years running. The project won three prestigious industry awards. In Florida, we completed three contracts for the South Florida Water Management District as part of a broad-based effort to restore the Everglades. We also successfully constructed a second above-ground reservoir for the Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority.

In recent years, we have expanded our expertise and capabilities in the field of tunneling, always keeping safety in the forefront. Today, Barnard personnel have expertise in all types of tunneling techniques and technologies, including: Hard rock, TBM, EPB, Slurry machines, NATM.

We recently ranked #3 in a national survey of transmission line and aqueduct construction projects. We have extensive experience in pipeline installation, encompassing a broad range of materials and diameters up to 156 inches. For one client alone, we installed more than 300 miles of pipe over the last 11 years.

Almost every job in construction today includes an environmental aspect, whether that means tapping into renewable energy, protecting the environment or species that reside there, restoring a damaged environment, or enhancing the current environment.
