DESMI - Model OptiSave - Optimizing Pump Speed to Current Conditions

With DESMI OptiSave it is simple - save 80,000 USD by having an intelligent control of your cooling water system. The cooling water system on-board vessels is designed for operation in 32°C seawater and 100% engine load and the auxiliary equipment runs as if this condition is permanent. However, the seawater temperatures of the oceans are not 32°C all over the world. Actually, there are only few hotspots where these conditions are present. This means that the cooling system in 95% of operation time are absorbing too much energy.

Deepwell Cargo Pumps for LPG, LEG, Chemical and CO2 Tankers. The NDW pumps from DESMI are energy efficient and well proven for pumping every media from LPG, to LEG over a wide range of chemicals, through to CO2. The pump consists of three main components: base arrangement, pipe and pump cylinder. The cylinder is designed with a variable number of impellers and casings to meet the required head and capacity. The pipe stack consists of a number of intermediate pipes in which the cargo is transported to the outlet flange of the base arrangement. The intermediate shaft, which drives the impellers, is placed in the centre of the pipe stack. The shaft is supported by guide bearings for each 1.2 metres, which is also the length of the intermediate pipes in the pipe stack. The bearings are made of carbon and are lubricated by the cargo.

The DESMI Modular H centrifugal pump is the result of further development of the well-known DESMI Modular S pump series. The aim has been to produce a series of non self-priming horizontal pumps, based on the same components as the S series. The H pump series has been computer designed in accordance with the latest principles, and the result is a modern, compact pump of ideal dimensions for simple and quick dismantling. By means of an intensive further development both the efficiency and the capacity of the Modular H series have been improved compared to the S series. The modular principle is based on a simple construction of standard components which secures easy servicing and low spare parts costs.
