Environmental Services

Environmental Restoration Services

ERT performs all phases of investigation and remediation following RCRA, CERCLA, and other regulatory frameworks. This work has been performed under close coordination with Federal and state regulatory agencies including all 10 USEPA regions and 33 state agencies. Our support includes preliminary assessments, field sampling design and implementation, site characterization, remedial alternatives analysis, and removal/remedial activities, which, together, provides cradle-to-grave contaminated site assessment, cleanup, management, and closure.

Environmental Compliance, Pollution Prevention, and Sustainability Services

ERT provides environmental compliancesupport services to cover the entire range of environmental statutes and regulations at the Federal, state, and local levels, and includes identification of new and applicable requirements, activity/operational reviews, development of plans and permits, and requirements research.

Geophysical Survey and Hydrogeologic Investigation Services

ERT was founded as a geophysical investigation firm, and remains strong in this specialty investigation area. We routinely perform geophysical detection and/or mapping of landfills, buried debris including drums and abandoned USTs, various subsurface structures, contamination plumes, karst bedrock features, and archaeological remains. We have expanded our geophysical capabilities to include unexploded ordnance (UXO) detection and characterization.

Environmental Conservation

ERT engineers and scientists perform environmental conservation projects for both public and private sector clients through an experienced staff of engineers, ecologists, biologists, archaeologists, environmental scientists, regulatory specialists, GIS specialists, and community relations specialists. These experts recognize, understand, forecast, and respond to natural and anthropogenic environmental changes; preserve historical, cultural, and archaeological resources; and protect and manage resources through regulations, permitting, incident response and contingency planning, damage assessment and restoration, and enforcement. ERT routinely manages environmental conservation projects that focus on regulatory compliance with both Federal and State agencies, and has specialized experience with the protection of the nation`s 13 national marine sanctuaries and dozens of fishery management zones.

Geophysical and Hydrographic Survey Services

ERT geophysicists use a variety of geophysical survey and detection technologies for the detection and/or mapping of munitions and explosives of concern (MEC), landfills, subsurface structures, contamination plumes, and archaeological remains. The technologies include ground penetrating radar, seismic refraction, electrical resistivity, magnetic/electromagnetic, and multichannel analysis of surface waves. Hydrographers perform surveys in the bays, along the estuaries, and in the marine sanctuaries to map the bottom of the river, bay and oceans for navigation and environmental conservation purposes.

Public Outreach and Stakeholder Communications

ERT provides public outreach and communication support for environmental conservation, compliance and restoration efforts. ERT staff develop communication strategies and materials, facilitates stakeholder/public meetings, develops education and training products and exhibits, designs and develops media projects and site profiles, and offers training lessons and seminars.
