The Feritech FT3505 5t Winch is a fast, precise and robust unit. Designed with safety and ease of operation in mind, the simple controls can be operated locally or remotely and the compact crash frame offers superb protection to both operators and equipment. The compact design offers efficient use of space as well as fitting inside a standard shipping container. The winch is supplied as a self contained, ready to use package. Simply fasten to the vessel with either the incorporated ISO blocks or sea-fastening blades, plug in and power up. The drum accepts a wide range of line diameters that can be pre-tensioned and spooled onto drum prior to shipping to site if required.

The whole system is pre-built and is an ‘out of the box solution’ with a tracked LARS, hydraulic power unit, A-frame and piston corer, all integrated into one unit.

Based on over a decade of continuous improvement our latest vibrocorer system brings together all the feedback and knowledge gained from the last 10 years of operation. The units offers a respectable 70kN of thrust.

Our latest gravity corer is robust and simple to operate in almost any water depth. The design is based on proven concepts but with innovative improvements offering dramatically increased survey productivity. Examples of this include the quick swap barrel release and rapidly configurable weights to control penetration.

The Feritech FT561 Double Van Veen Grab is suitable for both shallow and deep waters. The Van Veen is ideal for taking samples for biological, hydrological and environmental studies. The double grab configuration allows for more efficient sampling operations in deeper waters, reducing the time needed on the vessel. Our Double Van Veen Grab also has an option of a deck stand for sea-fastening and for emptying the sample. The lead-weighted jaws close positively, capturing the sample for secure recovery to the surface. The weights also enable reliable operation in strong currents, and extra weights can be added for hard seabed conditions. Designs with seabed frames are also available on request.

The Feritech FT560 Van Veen Grab is the most universal of the grab samplers, ideal for taking samples in shallow to medium water depths and for biological, hydrological and environmental studies. Available in 3 different sizes, we have a Van Veen to suit all projects, big or small. The lead-weighted jaws close positively, capturing the sample for secure recovery to the surface. The weights also enable reliable operation in strong currents, and extra weights can be added for hard seabed conditions.

Box corers are the go to tool for effective sampling in deep and soft sediments. Box Corers are broadly used for biological, chemical, and geochemical investigation offering a near undisturbed sample. Feritech holds a large stock of GOMEX (modified GreyO’Hara) types in 0.1m² , 0.25m² and 0.5m² variants for sale and also rental with the option of an operator. We can also build other sizes to order.

The Shipek grab is designed to sample all types of unconsolidated sediments, from soft ooze to small pebbles, which can be collected from near offshore and deep lakes. The robust centre-pivot sampler can recover virtually undisturbed and unwashed to the surface from any depth. The main use for the Shipek grab is for sampling benthic organisms living at or immediately below the water and for sediment containing a major populace of non-sessile forms.

The Feritech FT0594 Non-Return Valve (NRV) is our version of the very popular tool within the marine industry. The non-return valve works by allowing water to flow out the top of the liner as the corer descends through the water column and into the seabed. Then, when the barrel has fully penetrated and the corer is retrieved, the sprung loaded valve will shut preventing wash out of the sample as it is recovered back to deck. This produces a less disturbed sediment sample for higher quality results. The piston is compatible with the FT520, FT0551 and FT5500 for both Type-A and Type-B size barrels.
