The General Water Pollution Control Barrels are low cost, self-contained water purification adsorbers designed to treat liquid streams of up to 20 GPM. The units are available in three different sizes to better serve your treatment needs, 55 gallon, 85 gallon and 110 gallon.

General Carbon’s Medium Pressure 55 Gallon Adsober is designed for heavy-duty applications. The MP-55 is durable, strong, and intended for long-term use. Each unit comes equipped with lifting lugs, stainless steel bolts, a screened drain plug, and a pressure gauge port for monitoring your system operation. Each MP-55 adsorber is constructed of 12 gauge mild steel and is coated with coal tar epoxy on the inside and a 2-part epoxy on the outside.

The Transportable Liquid Phase Medium Pressure adsorbers are designed to handle higher pressures than our TL units. They are fabricated from mild steel but have a dished top head to increase their pressure rating. All units have two part Epoxy coatings on the inside and industrial enamel on the outside to give a long service life. Inlet/outlet fittings are steel FPT and are located on top of the vessels. Internals are PVC for corrosion resistance. The units have forklift channels, a 14-inch x 18-inch top boiler hatch opening and a screened drain. GC 8×30 or 12×40 virgin, coal based activated carbon is standard with coconut shell and other specialty carbons available.

The Transportable Liquid Phase adsorbers are fabricated from mild steel and are tested to DOT shipping standards. All units have two part Epoxy coatings on the inside and industrial enamel on the outside to give a long service life. 2″ steel FPT inlet/outlet fittings on the top of the vessels are connected to PVC internals for corrosion resistance. The units have 4-way forklift access, a screened drain and 16-inch top manhole. GC 8×30 virgin, bituminous coal base activated carbon is standard with GC 12×40, reactivated GC 8x30R and other specialty carbons available.

J-Series Liquid Phase Adsorbers are ideal for liquid treatment applications where higher pressures must be dealt with. All J-Series units are built to 100 psi standards and are designed for long term installation. Units have two part epoxy coatings on the inside and industrial enamel on the outside. Standard units have PVC internals, two access ports, a vent connection in the top and steel FPT fittings and legs. Easy access to the activated carbon allows for onsite carbon service and the economy of bulk carbon usage. GC 8×30 or GC 12×40 coal based carbon is standard with reactivated GC 8x30R and other specialty carbons available upon request.

Resistant to many chemicals, General Carbon’s FRP-Series Liquid Phase Adsorbers are ideal where corrosion is a primary concern. Rated for 150 PSI these units can be used effectively in high-pressure applications. FRP vessels always have to be protected from vacuum conditions by use of a vacuum breaker in the line. The FRP-Series tanks come in many sizes to handle a full range of liquid flows. Made with an internal bladder wrapped in fiberglass, these filament wound vessels are ideal for filtration using activated carbon, resins or other filter media. Food grade internals are standard along with a wide selection of inlet/outlet sizes. Automatic valves are available for unattended or automatic backwash.

GC HP-Series Liquid Adsorbers are designed for industrial and municipal applications where large volumes of water at high pressure are treated. HP systems can be provided in single tank or duplex configurations. Duplex systems are skid mounted with a valve “tree” allowing lead/lag or parallel operation and the isolation of either tank for service. HP Series units are built to ASME Code Section VIII Div. 1 standard and can be “stamped” if required. Standard coatings are two part Epoxy inside and outside with a complete range of commercial coatings also available. PVC internals are standard with stainless steel screens available. The adsorbers are outfitted for the hydraulic transfer of GC 8×30 or GC 12×40 carbons.

Specifications: The housing has a 3-bolt swing lid closure, vent and gauge ports and two differential pressure ports to measure the differential pressure across the filter bag. Connections are 2 inch NPT with a side inlet and bottom outlet. The basket is made from 304 stainless steel with 9/64″ perforations. It can function as a strainer or a retainer for filter bags. Filter bags are available in 1, 3, 5, 10, 25 and 50 microns. The lid is sealed with a Viton O-ring. All housings are supplied with adjustable tripod legs.
