GC Spectrum - Model HS-600 - Granular Potassium Permanganate Impregnated Media

Spectrum HS-600 is a silicate compound impregnated with potassium permanganate. It is ideal for certain applications where activated carbon is ineffective like the adsorption and oxidation of polar or lower molecular weight compounds. Spectrum HS-600 contains a higher percentage of potassium permanganate compared to similar products thus giving it longer service life. It is also considerably less dusty than other products making for easier and cleaner handling and use.

GC Spectrum - Model XB-17 - A 50/50 Blend of HS-600* And Activated Carbon

GC Spectrum XB-17 is a blended media of virgin activated carbon and GC HS-600 media. The HS-600 media alone will adequately control a large number of contaminates via adsorption and oxidation processes. However, there are applications where the chemical properties of the HS-600 and the adsorbent properties of activated carbon are both necessary for contaminate removal. A common example is where hydrocarbons are present with acidic gases. In this environment, the higher molecular weight hydrocarbons may cause desorption of the lower molecular weight acidic gases and thus limit HS-600’s effectiveness.

GC - Model PPA8 - Potassium Permanganate Impregnated Media For Odor And Corrosion Control

GC PPA8 is a spherical activated alumina impregnated with 8% potassium permanganate. It is ideal for applications where activated carbon is ineffective like the adsorption of polar or lower molecular weight compounds. Because it is spherical, it is advantageous to similar granular products for use in certain types of panel filters and in applications where lower pressure drop is required. GC PPA8’s 8% KMnO4 concentration is higher than other similar products giving it longer service life.

GC - Model PPA12 - Potassium Permanganate Impregnated Media For Odor And Corrosion Control

GC PPA12 is a spherical activated alumina impregnated with 12% potassium permanganate. It is ideal for applications where activated carbon is ineffective like the adsorption of polar or lower molecular weight compounds. Because it is spherical, it is advantageous to similar granular products for use in certain types of panel filters and in applications where lower pressure drop is required. GC PPA12’s 12% KMnO4 concentration is higher than other similar products giving it longer service life.

GC - Model Chloratreat - Chlorine Removal From Air

General Carbon GC Chloratreat media is used to remove chlorine or chlorine dioxide from air streams. These air streams are typically generated in bleach plants, pulp and paper facilities, chemical manufacturers, fresh water and waste water treatment plants. Chlorine is removed through a chemisorption reaction with sodium thiosulfate on the Chloratreat. General Carbon Impregnates a zeolite substrate with no less than 2.40 pounds of sodium thiosulfate per cubic foot of media.
