Reading, Billing and Collection Services
The Global Omnium`s management in the activities of meter reading, billing and collection provides a number of advantages resultin from our experience in the service subscriber management. Among others: Qualifyed staff: it has enabled us to serve as relevant in reading of the meters of supplies as València, San Sebastian, the City of Pamplona or gas meter reading in the Communities of Navarra and La Rioja. Utilization of reading system through portable terminals or remote reading systems installed by the Group in some supplies. Utilization of collection systems that provides access to information at subscribers` homes with edge technology of as much as 99 percent accuracy. A wide range of services to meet customer needs, allowing for system feedback to improve its designs.
Meter Reading Services
Counters are the mechanisms that record water consumption at houses, and serves as the basis for the billing for the service. Maintenance and preservation is performed by the company and therefore the cost of repair and/or replacement thereof is included in the invoice of water in the event of a breakdown. The reliability of the counter reading is essential to guarantee the log for supplied water consumed throughout. To maximize the register of water supplied and minimize the volume of unregistered water, three great premises are followed: no counter stopped or disabled; no counter with over 10 years of age through a renovation plan; and the fact that all installed counters are of high accuracy (volumetric with R> = 160)
Remote Reading of Meters Services
Global Omnium has ten years of experience managing water supply services using Smart Metering. This fact positions the company as a world leader in the implementation and exploitation of this technology. The Global Omnium`s Smart Metering strategy started in 2006, when the first drive/walk-by meters where installed. By the end of 2015, 25 small towns and some large towns, such as Gandia, Quart de Poblet, Tortosa and Sagunt will be completely equipped with smart meters. Moreover, València will be the first large city in Europe fully equipped with smart meters in fixed network in Europe (near 500.000 units). Global Omnium was one of the first water utilities realising that this model could report other benefits apart from those directly related to billing. To do so, a set of state-of-the-art software tools have been developed so that Big Data from Smart Meters is processed and transformed into useful information.
Distribution
Aducction Services
This activity consists in transporting the water from the purification plant to the entrance of the populations via an arterial network of tubes with a wide diameter and complex pumping systems. The purification system does not necessarily take place near to the city or population to be provided for, so water must be pumped through tubes measuring 800-1,600 mm in diameter to reach its destination.
Retail Distribution Services
Once water has reached different populations, water is distributed through a web of pipes of different size or diameter (diameter 450-800 mm), so each point receives the agreed delivery in sufficient quantity and pressure.
