Waste treatment for material recycling or energy recovery generally begins with a shredding process, in which the entire input material is prepared for subsequent process stages. The Terminator was built specifically for this purpose. As a low-speed single-shaft shredder, it can be used for all types of waste. Drum/opposing comb versions can handle applications from coarse pre-shredding to defined shredding. The continuous cutting gap adjustment allows tailoring of the particle size to subsequent process. A hydraulic drive with load-dependent speed control ensures maximum use of engine output on mobile machines. An electro-mechanical drive for the highest efficiency is offered on stationary variants as an additional option.

For higher throughput needs, the Primus is the next step up. Designed as a tandem central axle trailer, the Primus not only has 172 ft2 / 16 m² of effective screening area, it also offers a screen length able to handle big jobs. Heavy-duty components, manually folding discharge belts, the hydraulic drum drive via roller chain "drum grip" and a fuel-efficient diesel unit give this machine an excellent price/ performance ratio. Options are available that allow users to configure the machine for their specific requirements. The Primus is the right solution for smaller and mid-sized composting plants, as well as for getting into contract screening.

With the Nemus 2700, Komptech is launching a new generation of mobile hydraulic drum screens. As the successor to the Mustang, the Nemus combines all the positive features and experience of its predecessor, while adding new features from the Cribus series. The large hopper in the design of the Cribus, the screen drum with its improved material feed and the one-piece corrugated edge fines discharge belt harmonize perfectly with the proven, robust diesel-hydraulic drive. Redesigned controls make operation easier, and the extended discharge belts included as standard equipment allow for more flexibility. Customer feedback is always important to us. The new Multistar S3 is the entry-level member of Komptech’s professional star screen line. Designed expressly for the needs of lower to moderate volume users, the S3 combines low cost with a level of performance previously only available in the high-capacity L and XL class. Built on a hook lift module, it has small dimensions while still offering the requisite mobility for service providers or multi-site use. Like the higher capacity models, the applications range from compost to green cuttings to bark, chips and shredded waste wood. Similarly, almost all the options of the larger machines are available - wind-sifting of the medium fraction, screen deck variations, switch from 3 to 2 fractions, hopper extensions and much more. Within just a short time, the Multistar L3 has become one of the most successful star screen machines on the market. That’s hardly surprising – it packs everything that modern screen technology has to offer into an overall length of just 36`1`` / 11 m. One pass gives three fractions (L2: two fractions), wind sifting, and Fe separation if desired. With the machine going at full capacity, two wheel loaders have their hands full. Yet everything runs quietly and smoothly, thanks to the electric drive with intelligent control unit and easy touch panel operation. On the XL and L3-L versions, an extended coarse screen boosts throughput for applications where coarse screening is the bottleneck, for example with fresh biomass.

The Multistar XXL-2 is designed as a pure 2-fraction star screen and gives high performance, with unmatched throughput. The XXL-2 is purpose built to keep up with the high throughput of large grinders in the mulch market. This one step process increases output and lowers production costs. The mobile Hurrikan windsifters allow effective separation of plastic foils from over-sized screened particles. The patented “pressure-suction“ process enables an effective separation of light fraction from screening residues. In the first step, material is separated by an air knife. In the second step, the lightweight material is drawn off by a powerful suction blower. The suction performance is adjustable to material by variation of blower speed, blower distance and vent flaps. The quality of the recyclable oversized particles can be improved yet further by using magnet separation and a stone trap.

The Stonefex 3000 stone separator reliably and very effectively removes stones and inert items from biomass fuels. The input material is the usable biofuel fraction from a screener, for example woody green cuttings, screen residue from compost, or forestry chips. A patented system of pressure and suction blowers generates exactly the right air flow in the separation chamber to remove stones and heavy objects from the wood. Fractions that were previously difficult to use due to their high amount of stones can now be processed into fuel. Biomass processors profit from better customer demand for their fuels and higher sale prices.
