Message from the President
Aiming for 'A creator of unique value to the solution of water and environment'
For as long as nearly 70 years since its founding in 1949, Kurita Water Industries has been consistently operating in two areas of 'water and the environment.' As a leading company in water treatment, the Kurita Group has tackled pollution and other social and environmental issues, providing solutions to water-related challenges across a range of industries. In these activities, we have been providing customers with solutions by harnessing our products, technologies, and expertise in water treatment chemicals, water treatment facilities, and maintenance services.
Globalism and the rapid progress in digitalization in recent years have influenced not only economic and industrial development but also the shape of society itself, having created new issues in the global environment. In an ever more complex social environment, we will respond with agility and flexibility to changes in the environment that have never been experienced before and issues that have no easy solutions. At the same time, we will create the unique value that only the Kurita Group can create. Through these activities, we aim to contribute to achieving sustainable society together with our customers.
In the 'Maximize Value Proposition 2022 (MVP-22),' the Medium-Term Management Plan that was launched in April 2018, we reviewed our missions reflected in our Corporate Philosophy of 'Study the properties of water, master them, and we will create an environment in which nature and humanity are in harmony,' defined CSR as the Kurita Group’s responsibility for its impacts on society, and positioned CSR at the heart of management strategy. While innovations for solving global issues are required, we will make a sustained effort to create value that the Kurita Group shares with society, as the 'Creator of unique value to the solution of water and environment' that is set forth in our Corporate Vision. We aspire to create unprecedented 'new value' by positioning 'solving water resource issues,' 'sustainable use of energy,' 'waste reduction,' and 'progress in production technologies in industries' as social issues that we should address and by identifying the essence of the value that is required.
To be an indispensable partner to our customers and an entity that is essential for society, each one of us will aim to maximize customer intimacy by seeking value thoroughly. History
The Kurita Group has a 60-years-long history of experience as a leading company in the fields of water and the environment.
1949
Founded initially as a water treatment chemical business (boiler water treatment chemicals).
1951
Boiler Water Supply Laboratory established.
1959
KK Suzuki Shokai established a chemical cleaning company (now Kurita Engineering Co., Ltd.).
1961
Kansai Kurita Seibi KK. established as a maintenance company for water treatment facilities (predecessor of Kurita Technical Service Co., Ltd.).
1975
Kurita do Brasil LTDA. established to manufacture and sell water treatment chemicals in Brazil.
1975
Kurita Operation and Maintenance Services, Ltd. established as a water treatment facilities operation and maintenance company (now Kuritaz Co., Ltd.).
1978
Kurita (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. established as Kurita's water treatment chemicals and water treatment facilities business base in Southeast Asia.
1986
PT Kurita Indonesia established to carry out the production and sale of water treatment chemicals in Indonesia.
1987
Kurita (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. established to conduct water treatment chemical manufacturing and sales in Taiwan.
1989
Kurita Europe GmbH established in Germany as Kurita's base in Europe for water treatment chemical production and sales.

Goshu Chemical Co., Ltd. established to conduct water treatment chemical manufacturing and sales in Thailand (now Kurita-GK Chemical Co., Ltd.).

Acquires an equity stake in Hansu Technical Service Ltd., which is involved in the production, sales and maintenance of water treatment facilities in Korea.

Land Solution Inc. established as a consulting company dealing in soil remediation.

Kuritec (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. established as Kurita's base in China for import, sales and maintenance services of water treatment facilities.

Integration of precision tool cleaning business units from Group companies and establishment of Kuritec Service Co., Ltd.

Analysis divisions from Group companies integrated to establish Kurita Analysis Service Co., Ltd.

Kurita Water Industries (Suzhou) Ltd. established as a water treatment facilities production and sales base in China.

Kurita Engineering Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Kurita, integrated into Kurita through an absorption-type merger.
