Stabilization and Containment of Airport Fluids. Airports take careful measures to capture, contain, and treat deicing fluid and fuel runoff. In capturing the deicing fluid, the GEOWEB system stabilizes the pavement aggregate base layer and stores the deicing fluid in the contained aggregate voids. Stormwater containment basins built with impervious liners prevent infiltration of jet fuel and other contaminants into the groundwater. The GEOWEB system covers and protects geomembranes from puncture and solar degradation.
Airport Runway, Taxiway and Shoulder Stabilization. Airport pavements designed to support heavy commercial aircraft and vehicle loads require a stable base to maintain pavement performance. This can be challenging, especially in areas with soft soils and poor soils prone to settlement. The GEOWEB system stabilizes the pavement base layer with 50% less fill, and offers a more stable base that results in longer pavement life. The GEOWEB system is an effective base stabilization system as well as surface protection for unpaved, permeable shoulders and access way.

Through infill confinement, Presto’s GEOWEB 3D geocells reduce cross-sectional requirements by 50% or more for tracking pads, construction staging areas, access roads and work platforms – and they perform well over soft ground. Dam facing slopes, spillways and stormwater conveyance channels can be built economically with the GEOWEB system, and designed to meet specific site requirements with either a vegetated, aggregate armored, or a concrete solution. With the GEOWEB system, vegetated earthen dams can replace concrete structures, smaller rock infill can replace larger, expensive rip rap and concrete depth can be reduced up to 50% for hard-armor protection.
High-Strength Protection of Geomembrane Liners. As a protective cover for geomembranes for closure caps and stormwater ponds, the GEOWEB system prevents liner damage and degradation. With infill confined in the GEOWEB system, slopes can be designed steeper while maintaining strength and integrity, even when subjected to settlement - common in landfills. The landfill cover system can be designed as a vegetated, aggregate armored, or concrete solution that remains flexible. GEOWEB liner protection is a ‘complete solution’ including integral tendons and ATRA tendon load transfer clips.
Our porous pavement solutions can be designed for use with a variety of permeable fill to suit any loading and stormwater requirements.
