Test Systems
Topas - Air Intake Filter Test System
ABP 115 test system for testing industrial filters and engine air filters, for ISO 5011. The ABP 115 engine filter test system performs tests according to standard ISO 5011 (test of inlet air cleaning filters for combustion engines and industrial machinery).
Topas - Cleanable Filter Media Test System
AFC 131 Test System for characterisation of cleanable filter media acc. VDI 3926-2. Testing of filter media is important for the development and optimisation of filter materials as well as for quality assurance during the production process.
Aerosol Generation
Topas - Condensation Fog Generator
Condensation Fog Generator CFG 291 for fog generation to visualise air flows according to ISO 14644-3. The mobile fog generator CFG 291 is used to generate a highly visible, stationary fog for visualising air flows. It combines the handy design of the previous model CFG 290 with optimised fluid guidance and a specially developed evaporator. The fog generator is primarily used for the initial acceptance and routine inspections of cleanroom systems in accordance with the standard series ISO 14644 or guideline VDI 2083-3 in order to detect leaks in the transition areas of cleanroom elements, to prove the presence of laminar displacement flow or to visualise the overpressure level of cleanrooms.

IPA Conditioning Cabinet for Testing Air Filters
The harmonization of international testing standard ISO 16890-4 requires neutralization of tested filter element by Iso-propyl-alcohole (IPA) treatment. Therefore a suitable test cabinet for filter discharging is needed. The solution proposed in ISO 16890-4, chapter 7 requires a large amount of hazardous substance with approximately 1 l of liquid IPA, whereas particularly the handling of the trays filled with liquid IPA is risky. Furthermore large quantities of IPA saturated air enter the laboratory after opening the cabinet, which is a sanitary as well as a safety-related problem. It also requires an air extraction of the complete laboratory area.
HEPA Filter Element Quality Control Test System
This air filter test system is designed to meet requirements of EN1822-4 Appendix E “efficiency leakage test for particle sizes from 0.3 µm to 0.5 µm”. This part of the standard is related to filter elements which cannot be scanned due to their geometrical design. In this case determination of integral filtration efficiency is sufficient for quality control.
Cabin Air Filter Test System
With the Cabin Air Filter Test Rig PAF 111 fractional filtration efficiency is measured while the filter is continuously loaded with dust at constant air flowrate. The increase in pressure drop across the filter is monitored to establish the dust loading capacity. Both the necessary test rig and the test procedure are according to and are completly described in the standards DIN 71460-1 and ISO/TS 11155-1 for motor vehicle passenger compartment filters. Test acc. to standards E DIN 71460-2 and ISO 11155-2 can be carried out using Topas Adsorption Test Rig PAF 112 for cabin air filters (air filters for passenger compartments).
Cabin Air Filter Test System
The Adsorption Test Stand PAF 112 for Air Filters for Passenger Compartments is used for quantification of adsorption capacity or desorption behaviour of filters. The design of the Adsorption Test Stand PAF 112, the test procedure and data acquisition have been based on the draft standard DIN 71460-2 and ISO 11155-2 standard for measuring the dynamic gas adsorption.
Automated HEPA/ULPA Filter Scanning Test System
The Automated Filter Scanner Test System AFS 150 is designed to meet the requirements of testing air filters according to EN1822-4 = leackage test/filterscan andEN 1822-5 = integral separation efficiency test (analogousISO 29463-4/ -5) with a high grade of automatisation. Main components of the test rig for testing high efficiency particulate air filters (EPA, HEPA, ULPA) are:
