Unieco Environment Division

Unieco has also been active across the environmental field, producing systems and machines for air and water purification, waste management, disposal sites, and environmental reclamation and monitoring projects using innovative patented solutions. Important investments in research have led to the development of technologies using the Refri system for processing household appliances and other durable goods including televisions and computers. The aim is to valorise waste by transforming it into a resource, for use as both by-products and materials and as a source of alternative energy, as is occurring in Tuscany and Puglia.The Environment Division is active across Italy through specialist companies and plants which have become `case histories` of success, including Barricalla, Manduria, Nuova Geovis, Tred Carpi. Since the eighties, UCM, a part of Unieco since 1992, have been manufacturing state-of-the-art, electrically fed street sweepers and equipment for environmental hygiene.
