Ferox - Emplacement Technology

Ferox emplacement technology is a patented, in situ remediation technology developed by ARS which combines a proprietary injection process with the use of a high reactivity Zero-Valent Iron powder. With successful implementations at numerous facilities across North America and Western Europe, we have abundant experience using this technology in varied geologic and site conditions.

Chemical Amendment Injection: Oxidation & Reduction

With over 15 years of chemical amendment addition experience by industry-leading design engineers, ARS uses a wide range of materials/chemicals when designing remediation options involving chemical oxidation. ARS’ Design Engineers will select the chemical and an activator as needed based on site specific factors, including the target contaminants, lithology, and hydrogeology. Equally as important to the proper chemical solutions is the injection protocol that will ensure contact between the chemical oxidant and the contaminant. ARS’ real field experience and proprietary injection techniques are the reason we achieve successful remediation designs on nearly every project in which we are involved.

Environmental Fracturing

Pneumatic Fracturing (PF)

Pneumatic Fracturing (PF) can best be described as a process whereby a gas is injected into the subsurface at pressures exceeding the natural in situ pressures in the soil/rock interface (i.e. overburden pressure, cohesive stresses, etc.) and at flow volumes exceeding the natural permeability of the formation.

Hybrid Fracturing

Hybrid Fracturing is an innovative technology developed by ARS to facilitate more effective and economical in situ remedial treatment of contaminated soils and groundwater. Hybrid Fracturing incorporates two proven remedial technologies whose benefits have already been well established in low-permeability soils: Pneumatic Fracturing (PF) - a specialty area in which ARS is a recognized technology leader - and Hydraulic Fracturing techniques.
